Abstract: As businesses and supply chains have globalized, organizations need to continue to remain productive ensuring language is not a barrier for communication. Not only large organizations but large populations of multi-lingual societies are now trickling into the digital world for the very first time. Businesses are now looking to tap into this underserved user populace which represents a significant opportunity (The next billion users). Microsoft, through our Translation API (as part of azure cognitive services) provides developers and users with the ability to embed machine translation into their services and platforms thus enabling translation of text in real time or in batch across 90 languages and dialects. The translation service is built atop the latest advancements in neural machine translation (NMT) with built in data security. In this talk, I will walk through the various capabilities offered by the Azure cognitive- Translation service and how these services are being employed to reduce barriers to adoption across products and services both within Microsoft and by other customers.
We will dive deep into aspects of Text translation, language detection, transliteration, document translation and the ability for organizations to train and deploy custom translation models via the custom translator API.
